Except this time a soft instrumental birthday tune is playing behind her voice, from the first second to the last. The message gets a soundtrack.
That is background music, the first add-on for Classic. It costs $1.99 per message, on top of the usual $9.99.
How it works
While creating your message, right after picking the voice, you'll see the track option. There are 12, all instrumental, each made for a different kind of moment: birthday, romantic, longing, festive, bossa nova, lullaby, wedding anniversary, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and a Brazilian June-party tune for good measure.
You can listen to every track before choosing, right on the page. The music sits low in the mix, under the operator's voice, so it carries the message without competing with it. The person answering does nothing special: they pick up, they listen.
Why Classic only
In Classic, the message is an audio piece produced ahead of the call, and that production is where the music goes. In Live Operator, the call is a conversation: the operator confirms who answered, asks permission, and delivers the message live. There is no pre-made audio to lay a track under, and we would rather tell you that plainly than promise something the line doesn't do.
When to use it
The birthday tune is the obvious pick, and it works. But the quiet gems are elsewhere: the lullaby under a message for brand-new parents, the anniversary track for your grandparents' fiftieth, the New Year's tune for the friend who moved abroad.
The right track turns a lovely message into a small event.
